Moving In

Before arriving, please call management to set up a move-in appointment so that you can receive your keys or code, meet the Woodforest Apartment Office staff, and receive a Welcome Packet. The packet will contain lots of information to help make your transition more pleasant.

Please check your dwelling carefully. It should be clean and in good repair. Please note that, aside from the discrepancies listed on the Move In Checklist, you are accepting the premises in its present condition. When you move, any cleaning or repair that must be done will be deducted from your deposit. If your unit is clean and in good repair, you will receive the deposit that you paid.

Renters Insurance

Renter’s insurance is required for all residents. It is a cheap way to protect your personal possessions and protect you from personal liability for any property damage that might occur. Woodforest Apartments ’s policy does not provide this coverage. It is important that you protect yourself against potential loss by contacting the insurance agent of your choice to initiate coverage.

Moving Out

All woodwork, baseboards, doors, baseboard heaters, and smoke detectors should be wiped down. Clean all light fixtures inside and out in hall, kitchen, and closet areas. Scrub all outlet covers and light switches. Dust and shine all hanging fixtures. Check ceilings and walls for cobwebs. Clean all appliances.

Property Inspection

Total move-out inspection time should be approximately 10-15 minutes, depending on the condition of the apartment. The apartment must be EMPTY and ALL cleaning completed before the move-out inspection. If you wish to be present for your move-out inspection, please call the office to schedule an appointment.

Keys

Return any keys to the manager after your move-out inspection. Be sure to leave us with a forwarding address so we can send your deposit refund to you.

Rent Payments

Rent payments are due on the 1st of each month, along with electricity payments.

Starting on the 6th, late fees will be charged as follows:

• $30 late fee charged on the 6th

• $10/day charged after the 6th for up to 15 days

Rent must be paid by sending either a check or money order to the main office.

Parking

The towing of a vehicle may occur when the following circumstances occur:

The vehicle is parked in violation of posted signs

The vehicle is blocking a fire lane or hydrant

The vehicle is blocking a roadway, drive or loading dock

The vehicle is creating a real or potential safety hazard

The vehicle has unpaid parking citations

Vehicle has no valid permit or is using a revoked, altered, expired or stolen parking permit

A vehicle may also be towed when it is parked in a restricted area. Signs have been posted to let you know whether it is a restricted parking zone.
